Memory Injection

Exploiting a vulnerability in a legitimate process to run malicious code in its memory context. Mitigation: EDR, DEP, and ASLR.

Buffer Overflow

Writing more data to a buffer than it holds, overwriting control data. Mitigation: Stack protection (canaries), bound-checking code.

Race Conditions (TOCTOU)

Software behavior depends on timing/scheduling. Time-of-check to time-of-use can be exploited to slip in unauthorised modifications.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Misconfigurations

Unsecured storage, default credentials, or weak cloud access policies are prime targets. Mitigation: CASB, policy checks, MFA.

Mobile Risks

Sideloading (installing apps from outside official app store) and Jailbreaking (removing OS constraints) bypass vendor updates and security checks.
